E-Greeting Cards

Do you have a Scout to congratulate? A birthday to celebrate? Then send a free electronic postcard.

Sending a card is easy. Just follow the instructions at each step along the way. The cards are stored in a non-indexed directory, so only you and the recipient will know how to find the card. This directory is also pretty secure from spammers, so you can send your card knowing you won't end up on any junk e-mail list.

After you've completed your card, you'll see a preview. If you don't like your card, you can edit it and then send it, or just cancel the request. The recipient will receive e-mail advising where to find the card, which will stay on the server for about a week.

Step 1: Pick a Picture

Select a picture from the list below by clicking the radio button next to it. You may only pick one picture per card. If you want to see a full size image of a picture, just click on it. You might want to do that before filling in any information on this page, just so you don't risk losing your work after returning from viewing the image.

A Proud Moment
An Scout receives his badge in this picture from the 1952 Boy Scout Encyclopedia. The uniforms have changed, but the badge remains the same.
Bald Eagle

The Bald Eagle
The founders of Scouting choose America's national bird as the symbol for the program's highest rank. Like the beautiful creature at the left, recipients of Scouting's highest rank soar majestically, high above the crowd.

Happy Birthday Scout
Originally used as a recruiting tool in the late 1950s, this card makes a great retro birthday greeting for today's Scouts.

A Merry Christmas
This poster was probably produced in 1918, just after World War I ended. The message it shares is timeless, however.

Signaling
Send your message by semaphore using this early Scouting image.
You'll Do

"You'll Do"
In this Life magazine illustration, the sign on the post reads "Boy wanted." Uncle Sam's response to the Scout who applies for the job? "You'll do."

Liberty Loan Poster
J.C. Leyendecker painted this famous poster for the Third Liberty Loan Campaign in 1918. During World War I, U.S. Scouts sold $355 million worth of war bonds--an average of about $900 per Scout.

1937 Jamboree Postcard
Scouts who attended the first National Scout Jamboree (held in the shadow of the Washington Monument) sent postcards like this one home to Mom and Dad.

Do Your Best
The Cub Scout motto—"Do your best"—is a great message to send any Scout—or anyone else for that matter.

Cub Scout Outing
This lively group of Cub Scouts first appeared on a jigsaw puzzle in the 1950s.

Character Counts
Character does count, as this logo beautifully illustrates.

World Scouting Stamps
This collection of Scouting postage stamps from around the world symbolizes the worldwide reach of the Scouting program.
