About the Author
In
a Scouting career spanning more than a quarter of a century, Mark Ray
has participated in the program at almost every level: as a Cub Scout, a
Boy Scout, a district executive, and a Scout parent. He has worked on
two Wood Badge staffs and three National Jamboree staffs and has served
twice on the faculty of the Philmont Training Center. Mark is an Eagle, a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, and a recipient
of the Silver Beaver.
Currently, Mark is committee
chairman of Troop 317, chartered to Christ Church United Methodist
in Louisville, Kentucky. (Click

When he's not participating in Scouting activities, Mark
is a freelance writer based in Louisville, Kentucky. His specialties
include technology writing, corporate communications, and magazine
journalism.
